The NHS is the only non-private
source of OSA treatment, but its resources are so limited that patients wait up to 13 weeks for a consultation and up to 64 weeks for treatment.
So what is the alternative?
The first step in treatment is to establish whether the snoring
is a symptom of OSA, which you can do by completing an online
evaluation or finding a trained
clinician in your area.
If you have OSA a sleep test will determine whether it is mild,
moderate or severe. Generally Sleepwell ™ is recommended for mild
and moderate OSA whilst Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) is
recommended for severe OSA.
Further sleep studies can be carried out in the comfort of the sufferer's
own bed and the whole process from initial evaluation to treatment
can take as little as 2 weeks.
